McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release®

What is MSTR®?

MSTR® is an innovative, pain-free, natural method of helping you with your scars, giving permanent results. After treatment the scar tissue will not revert to its former state. MSTR® is a manual technique using finger-tip pressure to separate fibrous tissue around the scar, helping free trapped nerve endings, and increasing lymph and blood flow.

Is scar tissue holding you back?

Complementary Health Treatment

Every scar on the body is the result of some kind of trauma. A hole was created in the body that wasn't supposed to be there. The body forms scar tissue as  a natural response to trauma when the skin is punctured or lacerated either by accident or deliberately (by surgery). Collagen is laid down during the repair process resulting in a thickened fibrous mass which impedes the proper circulation of blood and congests lymph flow. As the scar is fibrous and non-elastic it will have a dragging effect on the surrounding tissue including joints. It can also sever delicate nerve tissue ends resulting in numbess, tingling, pain, coldness, burning, hypersensitivity or itching.

Symptoms may persist for decades after surgery with the loss of sensation being an ongoing experience that interferes with daily life. There is often an acceptance that the scar will never change and that normal feelings and sensations  in the scar and surrounding tissues will never return.  Fortunately, help is at hand...

How can MSTR® help me?

MSTR® can reduce the visible signs of scarring, in both size and colour. It breaks down the lumpy, fibrous tissue underneath the skin and at the sides of the scar, thereby increasing range of movement, elasticity, and reducing numbness and pain. This in turn can help you regain self-esteem and confidence, reconnect with your body and emotions surrounding the even that cause the scar in the first place.

What kind of scars can MSTR® help with?

MSTR® work is suitable for post-surgical scars such as:

  • mastectomy, lumpectomy etc

  • C-Section, hysterectomy

  • appendix, gallbladder etc

  • joint replacement scars - knee, hip

  • burn scars

  • trauma wounds

  • facial scars

Why choose MSTR®?

According to research, if a scar is left untreated it may make other therapeutic interventions less effective or not last as long. Even though your scar may be many years old this may be the release your body has been searching for.

Your scars may feel and look unpleasant and may even upset you emotionally due to the traumatic events that created them. Often just one or two sessions can produce dramatic changes that you can see and feel.
